1

At dawn, he brings his treasure; the wise one receives and welcomes him. This way, his life and children grow, bringing brave sons to wealth.

2

He will be rich in gold and cattle and horses. Indra grants him great strength, Who stays you, as you come, with your treasure, like game caught in a net, O early one.

3

With car wealth-laden, I came this morning to the pious, the son of sacrifice. Give him to drink the juice that cheers; may the Lord of Heroes prosper with pleasant hymns.

4

May health-bringing streams, like milch-cows, flow to him who worships, to him who will worship. To him who freely gives and fills, streams of fatness flow and make him famous.

5

He stands exalted on the high ridge of heaven, to the gods he goes, the liberal giver. The streams, the waters flow for him with fatness; to him this reward ever yields abundance.

6

For those who give rich meeds, all these splendours shine in heaven. The givers of rich meeds are made immortal; the givers of rich fees prolong their lifetime.

7

Let not the liberal sink to sin and sorrow, never decay the pious chiefs who worship! Let every man besides be their protection, and let affliction fall upon the niggard.
