1

Lord of all wealth, the Asura upheld the heavens and measured the expansive earth. He, Supreme King, approached all living beings. All these are Varuṇa’s sacred actions.

2

So humbly worship Varuṇa, the mighty one, revere the wise protector of the world, immortal. May he grant us triple-barred protection. Earth and Heaven, within your embrace, protect us.

3

Sharpen this song of him who strives his utmost, sharpen, Varuṇa, his strength and wisdom; May we board the ship that safely carries us, so we may pass over all misfortune.

4

Aśvins, with songs the singer has fashioned stones, hasten hitherward, Nāsatyas, to the Soma draught. Let all the others fade away.

5

Like the sage Atri with his hymns, O Aśvins, did you eagerly call, Nāsatyas, to the Soma draught. Let all the others fade away.

6

So have I called you to our aid, even as the wise have called before, Nāsatyas, to the Soma draught. Let all the others fade away.
