1

Let Brahmins and Aṅgirases come forward, and may the thunderous sky surround us. Loudly sing the milch kine swimming in the waters: set the stones that grace our holy service.

2

Fair, Agni, is your known path to travel: yoke for the juice of your bay, your ruddy horses, Or red steeds, Hero-bearing, for the chamber. Sit down, I call the Deities' generations.

3

They glorify your sacrifice with worship, yet the glad Priest stands unmatched near them. Bring the Gods here, you of many aspects: turn Aramati the Holy hitherward.

4

When the Guest has appeared, at ease reclining in the rich man’s dwelling, Agni, pleased and well-placed within the chamber, gives to a house like this wealth worth choosing.

5

Accept this sacrifice of ours, O Agni; glorify it with Indra and the Maruts. Here on our grass, Night and Dawn shall sit: bring longing Varuṇa and Mitra hither.

6

Thus has Vasiṣṭha praised victorious Agni, yearning for wealth that gives sustenance to all. May he bestow on us food, strength, and riches. Preserve us evermore, ye Gods, with blessings.
