1

To Jātavedas' holy assembly, I shall sing the mighty prowess of the swift red-hued Ox. A pure and fresh hymn flows to Vaiśvānara, and Soma too is made pure for Agni's sake.

2

When Agni sprang to life in the highest heaven, the guardian of Holy Laws kept and observed them well. Wise beyond compare, he measured out the sky. Vaiśvānara reached heaven through might.

3

Wonderful Mitra upheld the heaven and earth apart, covering and concealing darkness with his light. He parted the two bowls like two skins. Vaiśvānara displayed all his creative power.

4

The Mīgbty caught him in the floodwaters; the people await the King to be praised. As Vivasvan's envoy, Matariśvan brought Agni Vaiśvānara here from afar.

5

Bestow wealth on the singers in every age, worthy of holy synods, glorious, ever new. King, unending, like a sharp bolt, strike down the sinner with lightning.

6

May you bestow, O Agni, on our wealthy chiefs, rule, with good heroes, unending, without bending. Thus may we gain strength. O Vaiśvānara, hundredfold, thousandfold, O Agni, by your help.

7

You who dwell in three places, Helper, keep with effective guards our princely patrons. Keep our group, Agni, who have brought you gifts. Lengthen their lives, Vaiśvānara, when praised.
