1

Agni Vaiśvānara, messenger of earth and lord of heaven, born in sacred order, The Sage, the King, the guest of men, a vessel fit for their mouths, the Gods have created.

2

Praised be you, mid-way in sacrifices, great well of libations, seat of wealth. Vaiśvānara, bearer of offerings, banner of worship, the Gods have created.

3

From you, O Agni, comes the mighty singer, heroes who subdue the foe come from you. O King, Vaiśvānara, grant us excellent treasures worthy to belong to them.

4

To you, Immortal! When you spring to life, all the Gods sing with joy as to their newborn. They became immortal by your mental power, Vaiśvānara, when you shine from your parents.

5

Agni Vaiśvānara, none has ever resisted these mighty decrees, When you, rising from your parents' chest, found the light for days' appointed course.

6

The summits of the sky are traversed through and through by the Immortal's light, Vaiśvānara's brilliance. All beings exist under your head. The Seven swift-flowing rivers grow like branches forth,

7

Vaiśvānara, who measured the realms of air, Sage very wise who made the luminous heavens, The Unquestionable who spread out all the worlds, keeper and guardian of immortality.
