1

Of this our enchanting, celestial Soma, eloquent, wise, Priest, with inspired devotion, Of this thy close attendant, hast thou drunk. God, grant the singer milk to drink.

2

Seeking the cows, rushing against the mountain led by Law, with minds pure-minded comrades, He broke the unbreakable barrier of Vala. With mighty words, Indra subdued the Paṇis.

3

This Indu lights dark nights, O Indra, throughout the years, at dawn and dusk. They have established him as the day's bright banner. He makes the Mornings shine brightly.

4

He shines and causes the shining worlds that were not shining. By Law he lights up the host of Mornings. He moves with horses yoked by eternal Order, satisfying men with a light that finds the sun.

5

Praised now, O Ancient King! Fill thou the singer with abundant food so he can share treasures. Grant waters, herbs without poison, forests, and cows, and horses, and men, to him who praises you.
