He has drunk it, Most Marvelous One, and taken away our great and glorious call to Indra. The Generous One, when we serve the gods, accepts song even more renowned and the offerings we bring him.
The one who fills our ears with a cry to Indra, even when he comes near, even from afar. May this call bring Indra to me, this call composed in sacred verses to the gods.
I have sung him with my best song and praise, Indra of ancient birth and Eternal. For prayers and songs are concentrated within him; may laud grow mighty when directed towards Indra:
Indra, whom sacrifice will strengthen, Soma, and song and hymn, and praise and devotion, Who Dawn will strengthen as the night departs, Indra whom days will strengthen, months, and seasons.
Born for might in full perfection, and growing strong for bounty and glory, Great, Powerful, we invite today, O singer, to aid us and to subdue our enemies.
