1

WHO serves Agni with devotion and devotion in his hymns, and finds enough to eat,

2

Agni, indeed, is very wise, most skilled in arranging, a Seer. At sacrifices, sons of Man praise Agni as their Priest.

3

In many places, the warrior’s wealth, Agni, strives to assist. Men fight the fiend and seek to overcome the riteless foe through rites.

4

Agni grants the heroic chief, the victor of waters, steadfast in battle. As soon as they behold his might, his enemies tremble with fear.

5

With his wisdom, Agni, God, protects the mortal from reproach, Whose conquering wealth never fails, whose deeds of might never falter.

6

O Agni, God with Mitra’s might, call down the favor of the gods from earth and heaven. Grant us good fortune from heaven so that men may live securely. May we overcome the foe’s malignant oppression, may we overcome them, through your help, overcome them.
