The well you cleaved, set free the fountains, and gave rest to the obstructed floods. You, Indra, opening the great mountain, slaying the Dānava, released the torrents.
The fountains obstructed in their seasons, you, Thunderer, made flow, the mountain's udder. Powerful Indra, by slaying even the dragon that lay stretched out there, showed your strength.
Indra with violence struck down the weapon, indeed, even that wild and mighty creature. Though he thought himself unmatched, another was born even more powerful.
Him, to whom the heavenly food of these delighted, child of the mist, strong-waxing, lying in darkness, You, Thunderer, with your lightning struck down and slew the Dānava's wrath-fire, Śuṣṇa.
Though he might never be wounded, still his vital parts felt that, the God’s bolt, which supported his powers, When, after offered draughts, you laid him, eager to fight, in the pit in darkness.

The fierce God seized that huge and restless coiler, insatiate, drinker of the sweets, reclining, And with your mighty weapon in your dwelling, struck down the footless evil-speaking ogre.
Who may arrest his strength or check his vigor? Alone, unresisted, he bears off all riches. Even these Two, these Goddesses, through terror of Indra’s might, retire from his dominion.
Even the Celestial Axe bows down before him, and the Earth, lover-like, gives way to Indra. As he imparts all vigor to these people, they bend themselves to him, the Godlike.
I hear that you were born sole Lord of heroes of the Five Races, renowned among the people. As such my wishes have most recently grasped him, invoking Indra both at dawn and dusk.
