1

Agni, blazing bright, sends his radiance to heaven; he shines far and wide, towards the Dawn. Eastward the ladle moves, bringing all blessings, honoring the gods with homage and offering.

2

Enkindled, you are the ruler of the immortal realm; you attend to those who offer, ensuring their welfare. You urge on him who offers, making all his possessions yours; you set before you, Agni, gifts that guests can claim.

3

Be strong, O Agni, for great joy, your radiant brilliance most excellent. Make it easy to hold our household rule, and overcome the might of those who hate us.

4

I adore your glory, Agni, kindled, exalted in your strength. A steed of brilliant splendor, lit well at sacred rites.

5

Agni, invoked and kindled, serve the gods, skilled in sacrifice: For you bear our gifts.

6

Invoke and worship Agni as the ritual proceeds: Choose the offering-bearer, Agni.
