1

Radiant with your broad light, drive away the fears of those who hate us. May noble Agni be my guide and shelter, the easy-to-call upon, good protector.

2

Be with us now as dawn breaks, be our guardian when the Sun has risen. Accept my praise, O Agni, truly born in body, as one accepts a true-born child.

3

Bull, who sees men, shine through many mornings among the dark ones, O Agni. Lead us, good Lord, and carry us over troubles; help us, youthful God, to riches.

4

Shine forth, unbeatable Bull, O Agni, conquering all forts and treasures, You Jātavedas, skilled in guiding, chief high saving sacrifice’s leader.

5

Lighting Gods, bring many flawless shelters here, bring vigor, like a car gathering booty. Bring us, O Agni, beautiful Earth and Heaven. Light up, O God, with Gods in clear radiance. Let not a mortal’s evil will hinder us.

6

Enlarge yourself, O Bull, and give those powers an impulse, even Earth and Heaven yielding their milk in abundance, Shining, O God, in clear radiance. May not a man’s wicked intent stand in our way.

7

Agni, as holy food to your invoker, give wealth in cattle, lasting, rich in wonders. To us be born a son and spread offspring. Agni, may this be your gracious will to us.
