The pleasant seer has arrived at the assembly, true, skilled in sacrifice, most wise, Ordainer. Agni, the Son of Strength, whose chariot is lightning, whose hair is flame, has shone upon the earth.
I offer you reverent speech; accept it; to you who notice it, victorious and faithful! Bring those who know, and seat them among the sacred grass for help, Holy One.
The Two who display their strength, Night and Morning, will hasten to you, Agni, by the wind’s paths. When men offer oblations to the Ancient, they seek, as on two chariots, the dwelling.
Strong Agni! Varuṇa, Mitra, and all the Maruts sang a triumphant song, At the time when you came to the lands of people, spreading them like the sun of men, with light.
With raised hands and devotion, we have today fulfilled your desire for the gods, Agni, without ill intent. Worship the gods with a devoted spirit, Agni, a seer with no unfriendly thoughts.
As the Son of Strength, you provide many benefits, and abundant powers that a god possesses. Grant us, Agni, speech that is truthful and real, riches to be told in thousands.
Whatever sacrifices we mortals have made in offerings to the gods, all for you, strong and wise in purpose! Be the friend of every good chariot’s master. Enjoy all this here, immortal Agni.
