To him, the Lord of all, the Lord of wealth, of light; him who is Lord for ever, Lord of men and land, Him who is Lord of horses, Lord of cattle, of rivers, to Indra, to the Holy one bring sweet Soma juice.
To him, the Powerful One, who conquers and subdues, the Victorious One never vanquished who rules all, The mighty-speaking, the rider, unshakable, to Indra ever-conquering speak your reverent prayer.
Still Victorious, beloved by mortals, ruler over men, overthrower, warrior, he has grown as he wishes; Gatherer of hosts, triumphant, honored among the people. I will tell Indra’s heroic deeds to all.
The strong who never yields, who slew the fierce foe, the deep, the vast, of incomprehensible wisdom; Who brings good fortune, the breaker-down, the vast—Indra whose rites bring joy has made the dawn bright.
By sacrifice, the longing sages sending forth their songs, found furtherance from him who guides the flood. With worship and hymns, seeking help in Indra, they drew him to themselves and won cows and wealth.
Indra, grant us the best of treasures, the spirit of ability and fortune; May riches increase, safety of our bodies, charm of sweet speech, and days of pleasant weather.
