1

For you, this Soma is poured out, O Indra; drink this juice; for you, the stream flows— Soma, which you yourself have made and chosen, just for your special drink to cheer you.

2

It’s like a spacious chariot, Mighty One; to gain abundant treasures. In the sacrifice, they celebrate all victories won in Nahusa’s battles.

3

Like Vāyu with his team, moving at will, most gracious when invoked like both Nāsatyas, You are like the Wealth-Giver, Soma! Granting all boons, like Pūṣa, song-inspiring.

4

Like Indra who has done great deeds, you, Soma, are the slayer of Vṛtras, Fort-destroyer. Like the horse of Pedu who killed serpent broods, thus you, O Soma, slay every Dasyu.

5

Like Agni released among the forest, fiercely he wins glory in the running waters. Like one who fights, the roar of the mighty, thus Soma Pavamana sends his flow.

6

These Somas passing through the fleece-filter, like rain from heaven’s clouds, Have been poured into the beakers, swiftly like rivers running to the sea.

7

Flow on like the powerful band of Maruts, like that celestial host none reviles. Be gracious to us quickly like waters, like victorious sacrifice, thousand-formed.

8

Your are King Varuṇa’s eternal laws, lofty and deep, O Soma, your glory. All-pure you are like Mitra the beloved, adorable, like Aryaman, O Soma.
