1

WE choose the high protection of the Mighty Gods That it may help and support us.

2

May they always be our allies, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, Far-seeing Gods who bring us luck.

3

You guide us through holy laws, transport us safely over many troubles, As over water-flooding in ships.

4

Dear wealth be Aryaman to us, Varuṇa dear wealth for praise: Dear wealth we choose for ourselves.

5

For Sovereigns of dear wealth are you, Ādityas, not of a sinner’s wealth, You wise Gods who vanquish the enemy.

6

We in our homes, you Generous Ones, and while we travel on the road, Invoke you, Gods, to bring us luck.

7

Look after us, Indra, Viṣṇu, here, you Aśvins and the Marut hosts, Us who are family to you.

8

You Generous Ones, from time immemorial we have set up our brotherhood, Our kinship in the Mother’s womb.

9

Then come with Indra as your leader, as the first light of dawn, Yes, now address you for this.
