1

On high stands Savitar, this God, spreading golden light that he illuminates. Now, now invoke Bhaga, mortals, Lord of great wealth who shares his treasures.

2

Rise, Savitar, whose hands are golden, and hear this man as sacrifice is made, Spread far your broad radiance, bring food to those who feed.

3

May Savitar, praised with songs, to whom Vasus sing glory, all who protect our princes. Sweet are our praises to him; may he with all protection guard our rulers.

4

He whom Aditi praises, in Savitar’s incitement, rejoices, high imperial rulers, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, sing in concert, let them hear our call.

5

Those who come with emulation, sharing bounty, from earth and sky. May they and Ahibudhnya hear our call; guard us Varūtrī with the Ekadhenus.

6

May the Lord of Life, entreated, grant us wealth Savitar possesses, The mighty call on Bhaga for protection, the weak call on Bhaga for riches.

7

Bless us Vajins when we call, as slowly they move, strong singers to the gods’ assembly. Crush the wolf, serpent, and demons, may they banish all affliction.

8

Wise in eternal Law, deathless, Singers, O Vajins, help us in each fight for plunder. Drink of this mead, be joyful, then travel paths that gods frequent.
