1

Agni, light yourself well with proper fuel, and scatter the grass widely around you.

2

Open the impatient doors and let the gods come in eagerly.

3

Taste, Agni; serve the gods with our offering. Make good sacrifices, Jātavedas!

4

May Jātavedas make fair sacrifices, worship the gods, and please them.

5

Wise God, grant us good things, and may our prayers today be fruitful.

6

You, the son of strength, O Agni, the gods have made you the bearer of offerings.

7

May the gods perform our worship; do so, beseeched, and grant us abundant wealth.
