1

Bring your song and hymn to Agni, the Asura-slayer, the illuminator of all and giver of good thoughts. Like an offering on the grass, to please him, I bring this to Vaiśvānara, the hymn-inspiring one.

2

You, with your flame, O Agni, brightly glowing, at your birth filled full the earth and sky. You, with your might, Vaiśvānara Jātavedas, set the gods free from the curse that bound them.

3

Agni, when you looked upon all creatures, like a quick herdsman tending his cattle. The path to prayer, Vaiśvānara, you found. May the gods always protect us with blessings.
