1

When will our prayers rest beside you in your chariot? When do you provide sustenance for thousands of singers? When will you clothe the poet’s praise with abundance, and enrich our hymns with wealth?

2

When will you gather men with men, O Indra, and heroes with heroes, and triumph in battle? You shall win triple herds of cattle in battles, so, Indra, grant us heavenly glory.

3

Yes, when will you, O Indra, the Most Mighty, make the offering sustaining for the singer? When will you yoke your horses alongside our songs, and come to offerings that bring wealth in cattle?

4

Grant to the singer food with a plentiful herd of cattle, splendid with horses and the fame of riches. Send food to swell the milk-rich cow that yields much milk: bright be its shine among the Bharadvājas.

5

Lead this enemy, Śakra! Praise him as a hero, foe destroyer. May I praise the sage Aṅgirases constantly. Give pure gifts.
