Now we must praise and honor Savitar, the God: At this time of the day, men should call upon him,

Who distributes wealth to Manu’s offspring, so that we may here enjoy excellent riches.

For you, at first, created for the holy gods the noblest portion, immortality;

Afterwards, as a gift to men, O Savitar, you opened existence, life following life.

If we, as we are, have offended the gods through lack of thought, weakness, or arrogance,

Forgive us our sins and make us free from wrongdoing, O Savitar, equally among gods and men.

None may hinder that power of Savitar, the God, by which he will sustain the universal world.

Whatever fair-fingered God brings forth on earth’s expanse or in the heights of heaven, that work of his stands firm.

To lofty hills you send those whom Indra leads, and give them fixed abodes with houses.

However far they may fly and separate, still, Savitar, they stand under your command.

May the libations poured to you three times each day, every day, O Savitar, bring us blessings.

May Indra, Heaven, Earth, Sindhu with the waters, Aditi with Ādityas, protect us.
