1

Bright Agni, victorious and shining, is near Surya. It’s splendid to see, and food looks good in your beauty.

2

Agni, reveal his thought to him who sings, the strong, Great God! With fervor, praise you. Grant us that powerful hymn, O Mighty One, which, Radiant One, with all the Gods you love.

3

From you, Agni, springs poetic wisdom, thoughts and praises that prosper from you. From you comes wealth, adorned with heroes, for the true-hearted man who offers sacrifice.

4

From you, the hero springs who wins the loot, bringer of help, mighty, with real courage. From you comes wealth, sent by the Gods, blissful; Agni, from you the swift, impetuous charger.

5

Immortal Agni, whose pleasant voice is pleasing, as the first in rank, as God, mortals invite with hymns. You remove hatred, Friend of the Home, Household’s Lord, unerring.

6

Far from us, Agni, remove want and sorrow, far from us all ill will when you protect us. Son of Strength, Agni, blessed is he at evening, whom you attend as God for his welfare.
