1

INDRA, welcome at sunrise our Soma mixed with roasted grains and cakes, along with praises.

2

Accept, O Indra, and relish the well-prepared sacrificial cake; offerings are poured before you.

3

Devour our sacrificial cake, accept the songs of praise we sing, As one who courts accepts his bride.

4

Renowned from times past, accept the cake at our dawn libation, For great, O Indra, is your might.

5

May the roasted grains of our midday libation and the sacrificial cake please you, Indra, When the songster, keen of purpose and eager as a bull, prays to you with hymns.

6

At the third sacrifice, O you praised by many, grant glory to the roasted grains and holy cake. With offered foods and songs may we assist you, Wise One, whom Vāja and the Ṛbhus serve.

7

We have prepared the groats for you with Pūṣan, grains for you, Lord of Bay Steeds, with your horses. Eat the meal cake, bound by the Maruts, wise Hero, Vṛtra-slayer, drink the Soma.

8

Bring forth the roasted grains to meet him swiftly, cake for the bravest Hero among the warriors. May hymns in harmony with you daily strengthen you, Bold One, for the Soma draught.
