1

AGNI, God, Lord of all humanity, mortals ignite you At the ritual with wisdom.

2

They praise you in solemn rites, Agni, as both priest and minister, Shine in your own home as the protector of the law.

3

He who honors you with fuel, knower of all life, He, Agni, wins heroic strength and prosperity.

4

Banner of offerings, Agni, come to us with the gods, Adorned by seven priests, to the giver of gifts.

5

Offer your best, your lofty speech to Agni, the invoking priest, The one who ordains and brings the light of song.

6

May these hymns make Agni grow, so that he may rise in praise, To mighty strength and great wealth, beautiful to behold.

7

Best sacrificer, bring the gods, O Agni, to the devout man: A joyful priest, drive your glory far from our enemies.

8

As such, O Purifier, shine on us with heroic, glorious might: Be closest friend to those who praise you, for their benefit.

9

So, watchful, skilled in sacred hymns, holy singers, kindly honor you. Oblation-carrier, immortal, strength-giver.
