Agni stands upon the earth, well-kindled; he stands in the presence of all beings. Wise, ancient, God, the Priest and Purifier, let Agni serve the Gods for he is worthy.

Sarasvatī who perfects our devotion, Iḷā divine, Bhāratī all surpassing— Three Goddesses, with inherent power, seated, protect this holy Grass, our flawless refuge!
Born is the pious hero swift of hearing, like gold in hue, well formed, and full of vigor. May Tvaṣṭar lengthen our line and kin, and may they reach the place where Gods reside.
Vanaspati shall stand near and start us, and Agni with his arts prepare the offering. Let the skilled heavenly Immolator forward the thrice-anointed offering to the Gods.
Oil has been mixed: oil is his dwelling. In oil he rests: oil is his proper domain. Come as you please: O you Steer, rejoice yourself; bear off the consecrated offering.
