1

You are like skilled singers, inviting the gods with offerings; fair to behold, like kings, adorned with brilliance, like spotless warriors leading the people:

2

Like flames of fire with flashing light, bound by golden chains, like tempests moving swiftly, self-sustained and swift to aid: As best among all seers, excellent to guide, like Soma, good to protect those who follow the law.

3

Shakers of all, like winds they travel, like tongues of fire in their radiance, mighty as warriors clad in armor, and like the prayers of the fathers, most generous givers.

4

Like spokes of wheels in one nave, ever victorious like heavenly heroes, shedding their precious balm like young suitors, raising their voices and chanting their hymns as singers.

5

Those who travel swiftly like noblest horses, long to win the prize like generous charioteers, Like waters rushing forward, like omniform Aṅgirases with Sāma hymns.

6

Born from the stream, like press-stones, princes are forever like the stones that break apart; Children of a beautiful lady, like playful children, like a great host marching with splendor.

7

Like rays of dawn, visitors of sacrifice, shining with ornaments eager to be bright, Like rivers rushing on, glittering with their spears, measuring distances from afar.

8

Gods, grant us happiness and wealth, let our singers prosper, O Maruts, from old you have granted riches.
