May those who seek kinship with the far-off, Vivasvan’s descendants, dear to men, Even the gods seated on Nahuṣa’s son Yayāti’s sacred grass, bless and comfort us.
Your names worthy of respect, gods, and your sacrifices worthy of honor. You who came from waters, Aditi, and the earth, listen to my call here.
I shall rejoice in these Ādityas for my benefit, for whom the Mother pours forth balm-rich water, And Dyaus, infinite and firm as a rock, sweet milk—active gods, strong through praise, whose might the Bull upholds.
Seeing men, never sleeping, they attained divine status to eternal life through their deeds. Borne on radiant chariots, sinless, with serpent powers, they clothe us, for our welfare, in the heights of heaven.
Great kings who bless us, who have come to sacrifice, who, unassailed, set their abode in the sky— These I invite with reverence and hymns, mighty Ādityas, Aditi, for happiness.
Who offer you the praise you accept, O all-gods of Manu, many as you are? Who, mighty ones, will prepare the sacrifice to carry us over troubles to felicity?
You to whom Manu, by seven priests, with fire lit, offered the first oblation with heart and soul, Grant us, Ādityas, freedom from fear, and make us good and easy paths to happiness.
Wise deities, who rule the world, thinkers over all that moves and that does not move— Save us from uncommitted and committed sins, preserve us from all sin today for happiness.
In battles, we invoke Indra still swift to hear, and all the holy host of heaven that banishes sorrow, Agni, Mitra, Varuṇa, Dyay, Bhaga, Maruts, Prthivi, for happiness:
Earth savingly saving, incomparable heaven, the good guide Aditi, who gives secure defense, The well-oared heavenly ship that lets no waters in, free from defect, let us ascend for happiness.
Bless us, all holy ones, that we may have your help, guard and protect us from malignant injury. With fruitful invocation may we call on you, gods, who give ear to us for grace, for happiness.
