1

Only Surya is the Ocean, keeper of treasures; he sees the hearts within us many times. He hides himself in the secret embrace. The Bird resides in the middle of the spring.

2

In the same abode, the Strong Horses and the Mares meet. The sages guard the Seat of Sacred Order, and keep the highest names hidden within them.

3

The Holy Pair, of wondrous might, have coupled; they gave birth to the Child, those who brought forth. The central point of all that moves and moves not, while weaving the Sage’s thread with wisdom, They created the Child, the one who wears the thread of insight.

4

Tracks of Sacred Order and nourishing offerings have always accompanied the Goodly Child. Wearing him as a cloak, Earth and Sky grow strong through the food of pleasant drink and abundance.

5

He calls out to the Seven Red Sisters, skilled in sweet drink, and brings them to be seen. Born long ago, he halts in mid-air, seeking and finding the robe of Pūṣan.

6

There are seven paths that the Wise have made; one of these may come to the troubled mortal. He stands in the dwelling of the Highest, a Pillar, on solid ground where paths part.

7

Not Being, Being in the highest heaven, in Aditi’s embrace and in Dakṣa’s birthplace, Is Agni, our first-born of Sacred Order, the Cow and the Bull at life’s beginning.
