1

No danger, no severe distress touches the mortal man, Led by Aryaman and Mitra, and Varuṇa, together, beyond his enemies.

2

We wish this very thing, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, That you protect the mortal man from great distress and lead him safely beyond his foes.

3

Each one of these is our present help, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, Best leaders, best deliverers to guide us on and bear us safely beyond our foes.

4

You surround and guard each man, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, May we be kept in your dear keeping, excellent guides beyond our foes.

5

Adityas are beyond all foes—Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman— Strong Rudra with the Maruts, Indra, Agni, let us call for peace beyond our foes.

6

They lead us safely over all, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, Those who are kings of living men, over all troubles far away beyond our foes.

7

May they bring us bliss to aid us well, Varuṇa, Mitra, Aryaman, May the Adityas, when we pray, grant us wide shelter and defense beyond our foes.

8

As here, O Holy Ones, you Vasus freed even Gaur when her feet were bound, Free us now from trouble and affliction; may our life be lengthened still, O Api.
