1

THIS, even this was my resolve, to win a cow, to win a horse: Have I not partaken of Soma?

2

Like fierce winds, the draughts I drank carried me high, Have I not partaken of Soma?

3

The draughts I drank carried me aloft, as swift horses pull a cart: Have I not partaken of Soma?

4

The hymn has come to me, like a cow calling its calf: Have I not partaken of Soma?

5

Like a carpenter shaping a chariot seat, I bend the hymn: Have I not partaken of Soma?

6

Not as a speck in the eye do I count the Five Tribes with me: Have I not partaken of Soma?

7

The heavens and earth together cannot match me: Have I not partaken of Soma?

8

I surpass the heavens and all this vast earth in glory: Have I not partaken of Soma?

9

Aha! This vast earth, I will deposit here or there: Have I not partaken of Soma?

10

In one brief moment, I will strike the earth fiercely here or there: Have I not partaken of Soma?

11

One flank of me is in the sky; I let the other hang below: Have I not partaken of Soma?

12

I, the greatest of the mighty ones, am lifted to the sky: Have I not partaken of Soma?

13

I seek the worshipper’s home; oblation-bearer to the gods: Have I not partaken of Soma?
