1

Great Agni, radiant and bright, has come to us with light from the darkness, filling our homes with warmth. Born from Earth and Heaven, Agni, you shine with purity and light.

2

You, born of Earth and Sky, Subdue the dark shadows, brilliant infant, emerging from your mothers' embrace.

3

Here, manifesting yourself, O Viṣṇu, the wise protector of your highest place. When they offer you sweet milk, all together sing your praises.

4

Your mothers bring you food, which you give back to them, increasing their bounty. In your transformed form, we meet you once more. You are the Invoking Priest in mortal homes.

5

Priest of the sacred rites, with a gleaming chariot, banner of all acts of worship, Sharing the glory of every God, Agni, I call you here to men.

6

Agni stands at the center of the earth, adorned in fine robes. Born red, where men pour libations, O King, as the greatest High Priest, bring the Gods here.

7

Over the earth and sky, O Agni, you, youthful, spread above your parents ever since. Come, Youthful one, to those who seek you, and bring the Gods, O Mighty Victor.
