1

Bright and splendid, like Dawn's lover, he has filled the two joined worlds with the light of heaven. When you were born, you encompassed them with might; You were the Father of the gods, and yet their Son.

2

Agni, the Sage, the humble one who discerns like a cow's udder, gives the sweet taste of food, Like a giver of bliss, drawing men to him, sits graciously in the middle of the house.

3

Born in the dwelling like a lovely son, pleased, like a strong steed, he bears the folk. When we, with heroes, call out to you, may Agni gain all through your Godlike power.

4

No one breaks these holy laws of yours when you grant your audience to these chieftains here. This is your boast, you strike with your peers, and join with heroes to drive off disgrace.

5

Like Dawn's lover, spreading light, known as hued like morn, may he remember me. They, bearing of themselves, open the doors; all ascend to the fair place of heaven.
