1

Through many years I've toiled and worked, both night and day, through the phases of life. Old age takes away the beauty of our bodies. May husbands still be close to their wives.

2

Even those men before, who kept the laws and declared eternal rules with the gods, They decided but did not complete; may wives now be close to their husbands.

3

There is no use in work that gods do not favor: we all compete in this hundred-fought battle. In this contest, two sides meet on either side, and we move them both.

4

Desire has captured him, that man who despises me, whether he was born here or there from some part. Lopamudra pulls her husband's bull to herself: foolish she seeks the wise one, and will swallow her longing.

5

This Soma I address, the closest to us, that which has been drunk within the spirit, To forgive any sins we've committed. Mortal man is full of desires.

6

Agastya, working with great effort, wishing for children, offspring, and power, Cherished—a sage of great might—he gained the fulfillment of his prayers, both classes, and with the gods.
