1

Indra, mighty one, help us in our battles. May we defeat those who fight against us, and take the spoils of war. This day, when the Soma juice is poured, bless him who fights bravely. In this sacrifice, may we divide the spoils, showing our strength. May we gather your good gifts for us, oh Good One.

2

In the battle that brings light, at the call of the giver, at the proper offering of the rising one, the active one, Indra, as we know, slew whom each bowed head must reverence. May all your generous gifts be gathered for us, oh Good One.

3

This food burns for you as it did before, where they chose the spot for you, the one who chooses the spot. Speak and make it known to us, for they see within with beams of light. Indra is a seeker of spoils, for his allies. Now, may your great deeds be praised as they were before, when you opened the stall for the Aṅgirases. Fight for us, and be victorious. Give up the lawless man, the one who is angry with us.

4

As before, may your great deed be praised, when you opened the stall for the Aṅirases, giving aid. Fight for us here, and be victorious. To him who pours the juice, give up the lawless man, the one who is angry with us.

5

With a wise plan, the Hero leads the people forth, conquering in the ordered battle, seeking fame, pressing on, eager to seek fame. To him in times of need, they sing for life, with offspring, and with strength. Their hymns find a welcome place among the Gods.

6

Indra and Parvata, our champions in battle, drive away each man who wishes to fight with us, drive him far from us with the bolt. May he who finds a lair be welcomed, hidden afar. So may the Render rend our foes on every side, rend them everywhere, Hero.
