1

Hither, that I may live, I call to your wondrous chariot, swift of thought, borne by swift horses. With a thousand banners, a hundred treasures, showering gifts, promptly obedient, granting ample space.

2

As it moves near, my hymn rises, and all the regions gather to sing praise. I sweeten the offerings; now the helpers come. Urvjani, O Aśvin brothers, ride on your chariot.

3

When men meet in battle, striving for glory, brisk, boundless, eager for victory in fight, Then indeed your chariot is seen upon the slope when you, O Aśvins, bring some choice boon to the prince.

4

You came to Bhujyu while he struggled in the flood, with flying birds, self-yoked, you bore him to his ancestors. You went to the far-distant home, O Mighty Ones; and your great aid to Divodāsa is renowned.

5

Aśvins, the chariot you had yoked for glorious show, your own two voices urged, directed to its goal. Then she who came for friendship, Maid of noble birth, chose you as husbands, you to be her lords.

6

Rebha you saved from tyranny; for Atri's sake you quenched the fiery pit that surrounded him. You made the cow of Śayu stream with refreshing milk, and Vandana was helped to extended life.

7

Doers of wonders, skilled workers, you restored Vandana, like a chariot worn out with age. From earth you brought the sage back to life in a wonderful way; may your great deeds be done here for him who honors you.

8

You went to him who mourned in a far distant place, he who was left forlorn by treachery of his sire. Rich with the light of heaven was then the help you gave, and marvellous your succour when you stood by him.

9

In praise of sweetness sang the honey-bee: Auśija called you in Soma's rapturous joy. You drew the spirit of Dadhyac, and then the horse's head spoke to you.

10

A horse did you provide for Pedu, excellent, white, O ye Aśvins, conquerors of combatants, Invincible in war by arrows, seeking heaven worthy of fame, like Indra, vanquisher of men.
