1

To give first thought to them, I worship Surya and Prthivi, and Agni, bright and fair, to hasten their approach. Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids by which in battle you lead the charge and claim the spoil.

2

Ample, unfailing, they have mounted as it were a chariot, that we may think of you and do your will. Come hither unto us, O Aśvins, with those aids by which you help our thoughts to act in holy deeds.

3

By the might of heavenly nectar you rule supreme, Lord of all these folk; come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

4

By those aids by which the Wanderer through his offspring's might, or the Two-Mothered Son shows swiftest among the swift; By those aids by which the wise one acquires his triple lore—come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

And comforted Karkandhu, Vayya, in their woe—come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

6

By those aids by which you gave Śucanti wealth and happy home, and made the fiery pit friendly for Atri’s sake; By those aids by which you guarded Purukutsa, Pṛśnigu—come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

7

By those aids by which you made Parāvṛj see and walk, and freed the swallowed quail; By those aids by which you quickened the most sweet exhaustless flood, and comforted Vasiṣṭha, who never decays; And to Śrutarya, Kutsa, Narya gave your help—come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

8

By those aids by which you gave power to Parāvṛj to see and walk, and freed the blind and lame; By those aids by which you set at liberty the swallowed quail—come hither, O Aśvins, with those aids.

9

By those aids by which you brought sweet rain for Dīrgh
