1

We call upon Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Agni, and the Maruts, along with Aditi for help. Just as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

2

Bring us prosperity and victory, O Adityas, in battles against foes, O gods, bring joy to us. Just as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

3

May the glorious fathers assist us, and the two goddesses, mothers of the gods, who uphold the law. Just as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

4

May mighty Narāśaṁsa, bolstering his strength, and Pūṣan, ruler over men, hear our hymns. Just as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

5

Bṛhaspati, make our path always smooth; we seek your boon for men in peace and war. Like as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

6

The sage Kutsa was sunk in the pit, to aid Indra, slayer of Vṛtra, lord of power and might. Just as a chariot rescues us from a difficult ravine, Vasus, save us from all distress.

7

May Aditi protect us with the gods; may the watchful god keep us with constant care. May this prayer of ours be granted by Varuṇa, Mitra, Aditi, and Sindhu, Earth and Heaven.
